“…and just like that, I was hooked.”
The first travel memory seared—quite literally—into my mind is one of pain rather than pleasure. As a child, I was camping in a local state park when I made the ill-fated decision to grasp a gas lantern with my bare hand. The scalding metal instantly burned through my skin, sending us racing from the campsite to the nearest hospital. I emerged with a bandaged hand and a newfound respect for hot objects. Needless to say, my introduction to the world of travel was less than idyllic.
Fortunately, my story doesn’t end there. Fast forward twenty years, and travel has become not only my greatest passion but also a central part of my identity. I still vividly recall the first time I experienced the kind of travel that makes your soul sit up and take notice. It was New Year’s Eve, and my parents had taken me to the beach in the off-season. The town was ghostly quiet, the boardwalk empty, the waves rolling in with no audience but me. As I stood in the chilly breeze, gazing out at the endless gray-blue horizon, I felt an overwhelming calm settle over me. From that moment on, I was captivated. I fell in love with the sense of possibility, perspective, and presence that only travel can provide, and just like that I was hooked.
This love has expanded over the years into an enthusiasm for nearly every form of travel—but cruise ships hold a special place in my heart. There's something singularly magical about life at sea. From the rhythm of the waves beneath your feet to the thrill of waking up in a new port each morning, cruise travel offers a seamless blend of relaxation and adventure. Whether it's sipping coffee on a sun-drenched balcony, wandering historic seaside towns, or indulging in a midnight buffet beneath the stars, cruising feeds both the body and the spirit. It’s a floating world of wonder—one that I never tire of exploring.
And while I love to sail, I’m just as passionate about the stays that shape a trip. That’s why one of my greatest joys is curating and sharing truly extraordinary vacation rentals. From dreamy A-frame cabins tucked into mountain forests to chic desert homes that look like something out of a design magazine, I’m always on the hunt for the next unforgettable place to stay. Whether it's an off-grid treehouse, a mid-century modern retreat, or a coastal bungalow with panoramic ocean views, I believe where you rest your head is just as important as where you roam.
That’s where the idea for See, Seek, Sleep was born. This is more than just a travel blog—it's a network for the curious, the adventurous, and the endlessly inspired. Here, I’ll be sharing the most breathtaking things to see, the most fascinating places to seek out, and the most extraordinary spaces to sleep in. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. I hope you’ll join me on this journey—and maybe even find your next great escape along the way.
